Here are some dating rules I am thinking of applying to myself. Let me know if you come up with others.
Rule # 1. Protect myself at all times. Protect my time, money & heart.
Rule # 2 No dating women in the workplace or in my own neighborhood less than a 10 mile radius. Otherwise it would take longer to heal & get over her in the event of a breakup seeing as how I would see her face very often.
Rule # 3 Always have the means to get out first and make a clean break when it comes time to breakup. That means no moving in together, no getting married. I'm staying in my own separate residence during the course of the entire relationship.
This way when a breakup happens I won't be stuck under the same roof with her while looking for my own place to live. That will just drag out the healing longer than necessary especially when she moves other guys into the apartment.
Rule # 4 No sexual activity of any kind unless it's phone or cyber sex. Even humping each other with both of our clothes on is playing with fire. I'm not going to take the chance of getting her pregnant and being her financial slave forever especially in divorce court settlement.
Rule # 5 Never waste my time keeping a girl who does not want to keep me. I'm an all or nothing person when it comes to women. A woman is either going to take ALL of me or none of me. None of this friend-zone or brother-zone middle road business.
She's either going to be for me or against me but I will not put myself in a position to let her treat me with indifference. Any reaction from a woman is better than indifference. If she asks for space or a break I will take charge of the situation and make it a permanent breakup since it most likely is heading in that direction by that point.
Rule # 6 No spending more than 12$ bucks on the first date. First dates are always cheap like coffee and a donuts at Starbucks. There's no sense spoiling her with a 100$ dinner when there's no guarantee that she'll accept a 2nd date.
Rule # 7 No arguing with my girlfriend. No voicing any disagreements or different opinions. If I have a different opinion than her on a certain issue then I keep it to myself.
Rule # 8 No Friday or Saturday night dates until she agrees to be my exclusive girlfriend.
Rule # 9 No accepting invitations into her house for dinner until we've been on at least 10 dates together.
